Kate Major checks in post Boise 70.3

Kate Major is a girl in a hurry. Last weekend she was certainly knocking over her competition, cruising to a win in the inaugral Boise 70.3. Kate made it a hit-run mission as we caught up with her in Boston the very next day. She gives us the run down of the event and her race day, one that saw her run away from a field that included the formidable Desiree Ficker. Kate gives us a birds eye view of life at the pointy end of the field, something we here at the firstoffthebike.com offices can only dream of!

Kate Allen, last chance saloon for Beijing

Kate Allen is known to most Australians. For those who don't know she is the athlete who stormed home to pass a fading Loretta Harrop to win the Olympic Gold Medal. 2008 sees Allen facing a new challenge. Nick Warren from Zoom productions has been working with Kate and tells us how the defending Olympic Champion is faring some 60 days out from the games and less than a week away from the worlds.

And then there were? Bill Davoren gives us the score

Bill Davoren is a man with plenty on his mind. Last weekend was a disastrous one for the Australian Olympic Triathlon Team. Good results for both Russian and U.S teams mean that the strength of the Australian team could be compromised. We caught up with Triathlon Australia's High Performance Director waiting for his flight out of Madrid, one he was probably happy to take. We get the inside word on what happened in Madrid, how the team now shapes up, Brad Kahlefeldt's injury and the up and coming world titles in Vancouver.

One intrepid biker, 1400 Tibetan kilometres

The next time you're out training, spare a thought for Brad Davies. This guy has redefined what it means to go for a tough ride! A former triathlete turned adventurer, Brad made his way solo over 1,400 kilometres through some of the world's most remote areas from Lhasa to the foot of Mount Everest Base Camp, spending three weeks armed with some gear, a map and compass and a self-proclaimed "fairly good" sense of direction.

Belinda Harrison checks in from China

Belinda Harrison is a girl on the move. She has steadily climbed the world Ironman ladder to be considering herself a genuine chance of making the top step. Belinda has had some good results already this season and her top five effort at the recent Ironman China in conditions that had all running for cover is testimony to this fact. Belinda has been good enough to give us a few words about that race and we sure look forward to watching the girl from Geelong get better and better.
